I have had seven Hornby Dublo "Duchesses" upgraded by Scalespeed, which involved rewinding the armature to make it more efficient, and remagnetising to restore performance. The locos were also converted for DCC (Digital Command and Control) using the Hornby R8249 Digital Decoder at the same time. Performance of the upgraded chassis was a revelation, with smooth slow-speed running and better performance through the speed range. The conversion is excellent value for money and well worth the new life it gives to these classic models of yesteryear!
