My big toe nail developed a split right through the middle, alongside it a pink line, it became infected and my son gave me Marks practice number.
I was seen firstly by a lovely lady who cleaned and treated my nail, she also gave me lots of good advice one being to go and see my doctor to have the line through my toenail checked.
My dr sent me to a cancer clinic in Clatterbridge hospital, I had no idea that it could be nail melanoma, I was sent to have a nail avulsion with biopsies , complete nail removal, the result was good, no cancer.
All of this happened during covid 19 hospitals and my GP surgery where very reluctant to offer after care, it left me caring for the wound myself, as the nail grew It become problematic.
I returned to Mark and his Wife’s practice, Mark has looked after my toenail since.
My toe had become septic and the nail was digging into the flesh causing problems, the treatment I have received at this practice, the friendly approach and great interaction with good dialogue discussing procedure, treatment and aftercare, is a service that went above and beyond anything I have ever witnessed in healthcare right across the spectrum.
