MERESIDE FARM CHILDRENS NURSERY - SHIRLEY, WE

Owners are very rude and over charged us for food, they billed me for food which my child did not eat, when I refused to pay for the food they threatened to take me to court. My child was off nursery for a few weeks due to something he caught at nursery (this was the second sickness in two months) I informed the nursery he wouldn't be attending and that I didn't know when he'd be be back, I then received a letter from the nursery threatening to call social services because my child had been off for two weeks. The new owners don't have a clue how to run a nursery, it's such a shame because the staff are lovely The owners are running the nursery to the ground. I would not recommend this nursery to anyone

Mereside nursery has always made my children feel happy my boys started not long before the last owner left. The new owners took over and changes started to happen as expected as they see a vision for how they want things. There was a slight despute about the bill which ended up being a computer error we got over this very quickly and my son stayed there until he startes school in September my other son is still there after 21 months both my boys were happy here and the price I pay for lunch and dinner for them is a fair amount the facilities here are beautiful and its set on lovely grounds. The staff are amazing and have all the time for the children it is a very secure nursery. I have recommended this nursery to friends. I needed to change ny sons days and hours I discussed this with the nursery and they allowed me to make this changes the following week which was great.

Unfortunately I am being forced to write a negative review for the poor management/ownership at Mereside farm nursery as they simply will not leave me and my family alone for money I do not owe them. After my daughter attended there happily for around 18 months I simply couldn’t let her stay there due to the constant wrong bills being sent to me, this has upset my daughter deeply as she had many friends there, and it wasn’t a decision I came to lightly. There had been many many issues there with invoices and billing as there was always money added on for something extra, I had already let them get away with it twice before as I just wanted my daughter to stay there and it was usually only a few quid here and there. It became more and more apparent though as time went on that not only was the person that handled accounts not a competent accountant but also there booking system was outdated and often wrong. The last time this happened they tried to bring it to my attention that they had billed me incorrectly and charge me money then I’d already paid, well anyway 18 EMAILS later and the matter still wasn’t satisfied so I told them my daughter would be leaving Mereside at the end of the month which was paid up already. At this point I really just couldn’t do the back and forth with them anymore with no resolution being reached and I just didn’t have the time of day for it either, if it wasn’t sorted already it was never going to be so I really just wanted to never deal with them again and that be the end of it. They unfortunately said I had to give them one months notice and sent me a bill for the following month ahead. Again this bill was wrong, so once again a long chain of emails had to be sent outlining why the bill was wrong but I agreed if they corrected it I would stick to the agreement and pay the months notice. I was met with a final email that they was right and I was wrong and they hadn’t even commented on the detail I gave as you why it was wrong. So once again I had decided enough was enough, I wasn’t going to pay an incorrect invoice as by law I don’t have to and my daughter never went back. It could of been left there but unfortunately I have been chased constantly with letters and emails of threats to recover there debt through there own means. Until finally today of all days, the day everyone is forced to stop working because of the corona virus and my anxiety has already peeked I get a phone call from a debt Collection agency instructed by Mereside to collect their lost earnings... earnings they are not entitled to because my daughter didn’t attend and because they had ignored my many emails asking them to correct there bills. I hope anyone who’s child goes here checks there bills because I know the owners don’t. And anyone thinking about sending their child here thinks twice as they will try and get more and more money from you anyway they can, that is the lasting impression they have given me. Thanks to for your incompetence Ruth and Alan I have a very upset little girl, the stress of looking for a new nursery and the added bonus of dealing with courts and debt collectors ??
